Our expeditions for individuals and families, and corporate clients take you to special places the world over to learn first-hand about issues like climate change and biodiversity and other topics that you feel passionate about. Whether in the mountains of Botswana or the Amazon rainforest or by Greenland’s glaciers, we facilitate shared understanding and a chance to reflect on the challenges and opportunities emerging from today’s burning issues.

Greenland

The earth’s temperature is rising faster than ever. Sixteen of the 17 hottest years on record have occurred since the year 2001, and 2018 has seen unprecedented temperatures around the world. The most dramatic changes are occurring in the Arctic, where the temperature is rising twice as fast as anywhere else on the globe. The daily melt water of the most active glacier in the northern hemisphere would supply the water needs of a large city like New York for a whole year – and the calving of this glacier (when chunks of ice break off and fall into the water) is accelerating.

What impact will the changing climate have on our economies and our industries? What will our planet and our societies look like in the future? And what can we do to address the issues with the resources we have available, whether as private individuals, investors, philanthropists or corporate leaders?

Our expeditions to Greenland will give you the chance to explore climate change and opportunities for creating a sustainable future in one of the most breathtaking places on the planet.

We will spend time in and around Ilulissat. Perched on Greenland’s west coast, about 250 km north of the Arctic Circle, Ilulissat lies at the mouth of the “Jacobshavn Icefjord". The ice fjord is a UNESCO World Heritage protected site. Trips to the glacier and excursions on land and by boat are interspersed with discussions with climate scientists and meetings with Inuit leaders. During the expedition, we unpack truths and myths about climate change, discuss what it means for our economies, and understand what will be needed to create a just and sustainable future.
