Key funding concepts to create impact: from philanthropy to impact investing and sustainable investing. How can I combine different types of funding in order to create the change I want? What are the pros and cons of different financing tools? Social Impact Expert and CSR Manager Mareike van Oosting shares her experiences and best practices from the field. Among others she is working with Impact Hub Munich and the BMW Foundation.

Hear the story of a young investor who is committed to use her inherited wealth as a positive force in the world, about the challenges she is grappeling with and how she works towards creating a 100 % impact portfolio.

Investment Advisors, Impact Fund Managers and Private Wealth Managers

What is their role? How to choose them? What are important questions to discuss with them? Falko Paetzold shares how to select the advisors and wealth managers that can be partners on your journey. Falko is scientific director of the Center for Sustainable Finance and Private Wealth at the University of Zurich and co-head of the Initiative for Responsible Investment, a Harvard and Zurich Universities co-led education programme on impact investing for next Generation wealth holders.

Case Study: Heading towards 100 % impact

100 % impact? Antonis Schwarz, donor, impact investor and founder of the Guerilla Foundation shares his personal journey, his motivation, goals, and steps in developing a 100 % impact portfolio, ranging from philanthropy to sustainable investing. Antonis is also a Program Manager at BMW Foundation Herbert Quandt, where he runs the foundation's impact investing programme.

The programme fee covers donations/honoraria to participating organisations and experts, meals, and local transfers.

Programme fee: 650 €

Overnight stay has to be taken care of by the participants.


Each Field Session will have a maximum of 12-14 participants to guarantee a deep learning experience and facilitate the exchange.

 

Field Sessions are geared especially towards newcomers interested in joining the field of giving and social investing. It is our aim to equip you with the knowledge and practice to use a full spectrum of interventions and approaches to work towards change. We’ll explain the fundamentals, relationship, and value-chain of philanthropy and impact investing as well as give you an overview of peer-to-peer networks and organisations that can support you along your own journey.
